At AYA College, we want pupils to feel comfortable, presentable and ready to learn.

Uniform and dress expectations are intended to promote consistency, belonging, pride in the school community and readiness for the day ahead, while also taking account of pupils’ needs and comfort where appropriate.

We believe that our uniform policy benefits the school in several ways:

• develops affiliation with the school and nurtures the concept of community
• shields pupils from peer pressure to dress a certain way
• guarantees students’ health and safety while promoting discipline and good behaviour
• encourages more efficient instruction and learning

Staff members can focus their time and energy on teaching and learning when they fully comply with our dress code. The choice about what is and is not appropriate will always belong with the school. Both on the way to and from school and at the Academy, students are expected to follow the uniform regulations.
